STEAL AN EGG / FIELD GUIDE
How to Hatch Eggs in Steal An Egg
Bring an egg safely to your base, place it using the available hatch interaction, and wait for its timer. After the hatch, check the pet, its income and any new Index claim.
Complete the hatch sequence
Do not count an egg you are still carrying as a finished pet.
- Finish the return with the egg still in your possession.
- Use the base’s visible placement or hatch prompt.
- Wait for the hatch timer shown for that egg.
- Check the pet’s display and Index entry after hatching.
If there is no egg to place
First check whether the return actually succeeded. Losing the egg before reaching home leaves nothing to hatch; restart with a target you can keep.
If the egg is not hatching
Read the current timer and interaction prompt. Check whether it is placed correctly and whether the game is asking for space or another action. Do not invent a universal hatch time from a different egg.
Before changing an unhatched egg
Some reported mutation-consumable instructions depend on a placed, unhatched egg. If you plan to use one, read its current target conditions before the hatch finishes.
THE SHORT ANSWERS
Good questions.
How long does an egg take to hatch?
Use the timer on that egg. This site does not publish an unverified universal duration.
Why did I get no pet?
Check that the egg reached base and that its hatch actually completed.
Do all eggs hatch the same pet?
No fixed result is promised here. Check the egg or Index information visible in your game.
What should I do after hatching?
Read the pet’s income, inspect collection progress and decide whether it improves your usable setup.
